On December 19, 1913, the
Hon. Mrs. Assheton Harbord accompanied by
Mr. C.F. Pollock, ascended from Battersea in a free balloon and alighted 130 miles away in Taunton, Somerset. This flight won for the Hon. Mrs. Harbord the
Mortimer Singer Long Distance Balloon Race cup.
