Commander J.W. Seddon, accompanied by a passenger, left Isle of Grain on a Maurice-Farman Seaplane, at 9.15 a.m. on 21 January 1914, arriving at Plymouth about 4.20 p.m., having made one stop at Calshot for 1 hour 40 minutes.
The flight was made round the coast, the distance being approximately 325 miles. This flight
earned the Royal Aero Club's Brittania Trophy for 1914.
