On 21 February 1914 flight operations began at the
Großenhain aerodrome in Saxony when Flight Lt. Emil Clemens his observer, Lt. Rudolf Hasenohr, landed their
DFW Stahltaube monoplane. Großenhain would be an
important pilot training site in the Great War.
